Business: Acquisition of FluiDyna Accelerates Altair's Computational Fluid Dynamics Technology

News Altair has acquired Germany-based FluiDyna GmbH, a renowned developer of NVIDIA CUDA and GPU-based Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and numerical simulation technologies in whom Altair made an initial investment in 2015.

FluiDyna’s simulation software products ultraFluidX and nanoFluidX have been available to Altair’s customers through the Altair Partner Alliance and also offered as standalone licenses.

An Advanced Design Technology webinar on May 31st will highlight the new TURBOdesign Suite functionality, including a performance map prediction for centrifugal pump and centrifugal compressor with real gas and the integration of TURBOdesign Optima with ANSYS Workbench for CFD and FEA computation.

Announcements The University of Colorado Boulder has been awarded an NSF collaborative research grant to lead the conceptualization of a Computational Fluid Dynamics Software Infrastructure (CDFSI) with input from the broader computational fluid dynamics research community.

A project Kick-Off Workshop will be held May 16 & 17, 2018 at the CU Boulder Campus to introduce CFDSI and bring together leaders across the many software components that define, create, and analyze data from both computations and experiments.
