The one hour webinar will share experiences in modeling reacting flows with detailed chemical kinetics and summarize best practices for various real-life applications.

Application: CFD Improves Olympic Bobsled Performance

Application The US Bobsled Team has been working with the Exa Corporation to study how air travels around bobsleds, and how that airflow could be improved to speed up their races.

Based on these models, the scientists came up with a new aerodynamic bobsled design to give the team an edge on the ice in Vancouver.

ANSYS ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced that Volkswagen AG, one of the world's largest car producers, has signed a master agreement with ANSYS and intends to widen its use of the most comprehensive engineering simulation solution available today.

The strategic decision to use ANSYS software was due both to the bandwidth of applications that can be addressed as well as to the innovative ANSYS Workbench platform that allows for a substantial process compression.

Application: CFD for an 'F1 in Schools' Dragster

Application F1 in Schools is an international competition for student teams (aged 9-19) to design, analyze, build, and race CO2 jet-powered cars (dragsters).

Students get to use state-of-the-art 3D CAD/CAM software to design and build their dragsters. Performance optimization through analysis of the dragster design is also encouraged, which inevitably leads to CFD calculations.

Google SketchUp is an easy to use 3D architecture modeler which complements Khamsin's targeted use in the building industry.
