Pointwise Working with USAF to Improve Overset Meshing

News Pointwise has contracted to work with the U.S. Air Force to improve overset meshing as part of the Air Force’s Small Business Innovation Research program, according to Nick Wyman, Pointwise’s director of Applied Research. Pointwise’s Applied Research Group will work with the Arnold Engineering Development Center to couple Pointwise’s state of the art meshing tools with production overset grid assembly software.

ANSYS FLUENT 12.0 and Panasas Deliver 2X Speed Up

News A performance study of ANSYS® FLUENT® 12.0 was conducted between Panasas, the University of Cambridge, and ANSYS to demonstrate the benefits of the new parallel I/O scheme in ANSYS FLUENT.

The study compares release 12.0 with 6.3 for solver and data-write timings of industrial CFD models scaled from 16 to 256 processing cores.
