Application Researchers at North Carolina State University (NCSU) are using EnSight visualizations to investigate a medical condition known as abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), or “triple A” for short. To appreciate the importance of this research, one must consider the number of lives it could potentially save. It is estimated that that about 15,000 people in the U.S. die each year from ruptured AAAs, which is roughly equivalent to the number of murder victims in the U.S. annually.

ANSYS Please join a free webinar on Thursday, 09 Apr 09 at 8:30am PDT co-hosted by ANSYS and Panasas that will demonstrate breakthrough ANSYS performance using a parallel file system and storage technology from Panasas.

CAE parallel performance and job turn-around times continue to be an important factor behind engineering decisions to develop FEA and CFD models at higher fidelity. Most parallel CAE simulations use scalable clusters for their HPC requirements, but for certain classes of CAE models, data IO can severely degrade scalability and limit overall CAE effectiveness.
