Events: Optimize Your Microfluidic Designs Using FLOW-3D
Posted Wed August 13, 2008 @02:42PM
Print version Email story Tweet story
Announcements CFD is increasingly being used to model and optimize microfluidic systems. Success of a microfluidic device depends on its ability to accurately control micro-scale fluid volumes.

This presentation will show many microfluidic processes and devices that FLOW-3D simulates, including joule heating, multiphase flows, micro-valves, micro-pumps, micro-mixers and lab on a chip.

Application: Harpoon Aids Fire and Explosion Analysis
Posted Tue August 05, 2008 @03:50PM
Print version Email story Tweet story
Application Modeling hazardous scenarios has become an essential part of engineering design for Offshore activities. Physical testing can be prohibitively expensive and in some cases impossible so modern Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques are commonly used for the modeling of exhaust plume dispersion, natural and forced ventilation efficiency, flaring, toxic gas releases, fires, explosions and hazardous spills.

Conducting and interpreting simulation research requires a substantial amount of specialist knowledge and so Offshore organisations frequently outsource the task to dedicated companies.
