EFD.V5 Used to Improve LCD Design

News Sharp Laboratories Europe has selected Flomerics’ EFD.V5 engineering fluid dynamics software, embedded in CATIA V5, for the design and virtual prototype testing of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) modules for various applications in Europe.

“We are very pleased that Sharp Laboratories has chosen EFD.V5. For analysis to become an integral step in the design process, it needs to fit within the product development process with minimal disruption to the workflow. Since EFD.V5 is embedded in CATIA V5, Sharp Laboratories can use a single interface for both design and analysis and take advantage of virtual prototyping at the design stage to further improve their market leading products,” said Gary Carter, Flomerics’ CEO.

Flomerics Helps Canadian Schools Pursue F1 Pole Position

Business: Dr. Daniel Schikore Promoted to VP of Engineering at CEI

News Dr. Daniel Schikore, a senior developer at Computational Engineering International (CEI), has been promoted to Vice President of Engineering. Dan joined CEI, Inc., a leading provider of CAE pre- and post-processing tools, in 2000 and worked on high performance rendering techniques for the display of large-scale data as well as being the team leader for Apex – CEI’s visualization framework.

Prior to joining CEI, Inc., Dan received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1997. Following graduation, Dan joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) where he participated in and led components of a research and development effort to advance LLNL’s ability to visualize the results of scientific simulations on high performance computers.
