Education: 'Engineering Fluid Dynamics for Education' Receives Strong Response

News Flomerics has announced that it has received an unprecedented response to its offer of providing its popular Engineering Fluid Dynamics (EFD) simulation software for teaching and research purposes.

Due to the large response to the initial announcement, Flomerics has announced that it will provide all 3 versions of EFD at $380 for a 3-year license to universities and technology colleges around the world.

Announcements OpenFOAM is the leading Open Source CFD software and has a large and rapidly growing international user base across industrial and academic sectors. The first OpenFOAM International Conference is designed to bring together users and managers.

The conference will be held November 26-27, 2007 at the Beaumont House, London, United Kingdom.

The conference program will include presentations that demonstrate OpenFOAM's unique capabilities and how adoption of the software is moving CAE forward.

CD-adapco CD-adapco today announces the release of STAR-CCM+ V2.08, the latest version of their technology leading Computational Fluid Dynamics package. Maintaining its demanding four-month release cycle, STAR-CCM+ V2.08 includes many usability enhancements and an improved meshing engine that delivers higher quality meshes even more quickly than before (up to 20% faster in some cases).

Among many new features, STAR-CCM+ V2.08 also introduces a number of key enhancements to aid in simulating engineering problems that involve heat transfer between liquids, gases and solids.
