ANSYS, Inc. will host a webinar describing how CFD can help you Get The Most From Your Existing Pollution Control Equipment on July 10, 2007 at 2:00 pm EST.

With the high expense of compliance for SOx limits in the Clean Air Interstate Rule (CAIR), operators are looking for low-cost methods to get the most from their existing pollution control equipment. This may avoid the significant capital expenditures of new equipment, or may add revenue by allowing the sale of SOx credits.

German Automotive Manufacturers Assess Viability of Predicting Flow-Induced Noise

A preliminary assessment of the viability of CAE methods for predicting types of flow-generated noise (of primary concern to customers in the automotive sector) has been completed by a joint working group comprising Audi, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Porsche and Volkswagen.

CD-adapco and Exa Corporation were invited two years ago to participate in the programme for aeroacoustics simulation of duct flow noise and sunroof buffeting. The Working Group has invested significant resources to acquire experimental data on an elbow-bend / flap configuration and generic sunroof model, including pressure spectra, mean and dynamic flow visualization.

Visualization: CEI and University Freiburg Partner to Bring Medical Imaging Community New Techniques

Computational Engineering International (CEI), world leader in visualization for science and engineering, and the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Medical Physics at the University of Freiburg, Germany, announced today a partnership that will bring new visualization techniques to the medical imaging community, making it possible for researchers to use CEI’s EnSight software to conduct advanced blood flow visualization and analysis with conventional DICOM data.

New Software: Hanley Releases MultiElement Airfoils 3.0

Hanley Innovations, a leader in the development of interactive PC software for aerodynamics conceptual design and analysis, announced the availability of MultiElement Airfoils 3.0.

MultiElement Airfoils is a Windows based computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software package for analyzing airfoils and other two-dimensional shapes placed in close proximity to each other simply by using a mouse to drag the objects to their desired locations.
