News SoftInWay, an innovator in advanced turbo-machinery design software, today announced that it has broadened the company's world sales network by completing an agreement with Charisma Careers Private Ltd to provide distribution of its AxSTREAM™ Suite of Multidisciplinary Design Optimization software to the Indian turbo-machinery industry.

Charisma Careers is a leading seller of CAE software in India, representing brands such as Codeware and BENTLEY Systems.

Fluent for CATIA V5 2.0 Reviewed

News Desktop Engineering has reviewed Fluent for CATIA V5 and found the integration of the two software packages to be well done.
The first thing to understand is that the whole system is built into and takes place within CATIA V5 — there are no external applications. This means that it’s built to both take advantage of the existing simulation and analysis tools already within CATIA V5 and to extend their use for a CFD workflow. As such, if you’re familiar with CATIA V5, then the starting point for any review, the interface, will be immediately familiar. The Fluent for CATIA tools are found within the analysis and simulation application group.

Mixed Results for CFD Modeling of Biocontainment Facilities

News Biocontainment facilities architect Jon Crane describes the mixed results CFD modeling has had on the design of laboratories and animal rooms.

CFD has been used successfully for approximately ten years to identify how air flows in animal rooms in various design situations such as high supply diffusers and low exhaust or high supply diffusers and high exhaust. The benefits allow better design for more uniform temperatures, control of allergens, and minimization of dead air spaces.

Grid Generation In 1992, Sandia National Laboratories started the Meshing Roundtable as a small meeting of like-minded companies and organizations striving to establish a common focus for research and development in the field of mesh and grid generation. Sandia National Laboratories continues to organize the International Meshing Roundtable, which has become recognized as an international focal point annually attended by researchers and developers from dozens of countries around the world.

The 16th International Meshing Roundtable will be held October 14-17, 2007 in Seattle, Washington, USA.

EnSight Available Through New Academic License
