This new FSI solution builds on the strategy of CD-adapco to partner with best-in-class technology providers, such as SIMULIA, to deliver a broad range of multiphysics simulation solutions. The bi-directional coupling leverages a strong partnership with Dassault Systèmes and the independent, open solution for the coupling—MpCCI software from Fraunhofer SCAI—to enable STAR-CD and ABAQUS to work together to solve a wide range of important FSI problems.

Papers will deal with the latest advances in the fields of simulation, protection, detection, training and regulatory practices for the safe operation of aircraft at takeoff and in-flight. The conference will provide attendees with a high-quality technical program and an exhibition showcasing the latest technology, along with an array of special activities and events.

Paul Bemis, Fluent’s vice president of product management, offers this straightforward perspectives. “In the past, CFD was used by people who had no choice, working on jets, rockets, and overheated car engines,” he says. “They used CFD primarily as a forensic tool to understand failure. Now, with better predictability (results), people use CFD to help with the design decision process, hoping to optimize at the beginning.”

Each of the seminars will focus on the application of a variety of simulation techniques to a wide-range of aerospace applications and demonstrate how flow, thermal and stress simulation can reduce costs and increase efficiency of the design process and help to engineer products that will meet future technological and economic challenges.
