Petrobras Extends EnSight Use

News Petrobras, Brazil’s largest oil supplier, has purchased an additional seat of EnSight Gold, giving the company five licenses of CEI’s extreme visualization software. The sale was made by Engineering Simulation and Scientific Software (ESSS), CEI’s South American distributor and Brazil’s leading supplier of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) solutions.

Petrobras uses EnSight Gold to visualize, analyze and communicate CFD simulations of hydrocyclones, the technology employed in the oil industry to classify and perform liquid separation analysis. Petrobras selected EnSight Gold because it quickly and easily handles multiple results files with extensive transient analyses from ANSYS CFX-10 software.

COSMOSFloWorks Cuts Unnecessary Prototypes from Design Processes
Posted Thu March 23, 2006 @01:34PM

News Lasers, undersea vehicles, networking gear, and medical devices are just a few of the products manufactured for less money and with fewer quality errors thanks to COSMOSFloWorks™ fluid dynamics analysis software.

COSMOSFloWorks analysis enables engineers to simulate and study the flows of liquids, gasses, and heat through their designs before they commit to building expensive physical prototypes. By simulating the fluid flows, designers can determine whether gasses circulate through a machine as planned, whether heat flows through a product quickly enough to prevent overheating, or whether a product exhibits the expected aerodynamic qualities. If COSMOSFloWorks analysis reveals a problem, designers can modify their design and run more COSMOSFloWorks analysis to determine if it works, rather than manufacturing a new prototype to test each iteration.

New Software: CoolitPCB v2.0 Adds Traces and Transient Flow Capability
Posted Thu March 23, 2006 @11:32AM
Print version Email story Tweet story
News CoolitPCB, the price shattering CFD software for board level analysis, is adding major new functionality in its upcoming release. V2.0 will expand to simulate traces, a feature found in no other CFD software. This important addition, from Daat's ongoing enhancement program, will import board artwork directly for thermal analysis.

Also new in V2.0 will be the ability to handle transient flow, which augments the software's the existing capabilities to test for standard JEDEC forced, free convection, slots as well as custom setups. CoolitPCB also reports component junction temperature, case temperature, as well as detailed 3D airflow and temperature distribution.
