ANSYS CFX ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced the 2006 International ANSYS Conference. A must-attend event for executives, managers and technical staff in a wide range of industries, the conference is scheduled for May 2 - 4 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

This is the thirteenth conference that ANSYS has staged since its inaugural event in 1983. During the last two decades, as simulation has become a critical element of the product development process, the content, breadth and attendance of the International ANSYS Conference has grown as well. Companies from around the world, in a wide range of geographic regions and industries, are planning to attend the 2006 event.

ANSYS Joins European SAFEDOR Project

ANSYS CFX ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced its selection as one of four software manufacturers providing expertise to the SAFEDOR project, which is charged with improving the safety, security, environmental impact and competitiveness of Europe’s maritime industry. ANSYS will work in tandem with other SAFEDOR partners to develop innovations applicable to cruise ships, ferries, tankers and container ships.

SAFEDOR (Design, Operation and Regulation for Safety) is a 50-plus-member European consortium whose mission is to provide cost-effective solutions to improve waterborne transport while treating safety as a design objective rather than a constraint.

ANSYS FLUENT Fluent Inc., the worldwide leader in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software and services, announces the immediate release of FLUENT for CATIA V5. With this new product, Fluent delivers its rapid flow modeling technology into Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA V5 product lifecycle management (PLM) environment.

By providing a high degree of automation and robustness, rapid flow modeling allows fluid flow analysis to be applied early in the design cycle, resulting in improved design performance and reduced time to market.

Business: Flomerics Posts Strong Fiscal Growth in 2005

News Flomerics Group PLC, supplier of virtual prototyping software to the electronics industries, has announced its 2005 financial results. Overall revenue was up 12% from 2004 to £11.4 million.

Flomerics has maintained its position as the global market leader in thermal analysis for electronics with its flagship product, FLOTHERM. The Company has recently been tackling thermal issues earlier in the design cycle, in particular with its FLO/PCB product released in 2004, and this has strengthened the market position of FLOTHERM itself. Revenue from the thermal product lines increased by 6% relative to 2004.

Business: Flownex Acquires the FLO++ CFD Solver

News Flownex recently acquired the CFD code FLO++ to enhance Flownex's system CFD capabilities. FLO++ is a full 3D finite volume CFD code with advanced features.

Flownex is a systems CFD code that enables users to perform detail design, analysis and optimization of a wide range of thermal-fluid systems ranging from simple pipe networks to complex systems such as gas turbine engines or combined cycle power plants.

Announcements IIT Bombay, Zeus Numerix and CDAC India announce a 6 day course on CFD with theory and applications. The course will be held May 1-6, 2006 in Bombay, India.

Lectures will be given by IIT Faculty and hands on training will be given by Zeus Numerix engineers. More information is available in the CFD for Industrial Applications brochure [pdf] or by contacting support@zeusnumerix.com.
