Announcements Learn how to use this popular numerical library for the Finite Volume method with the help of expert OpenFoam developers. OpenFoam allows the solution of rather general system of transport equations by the Finite Volume method, differential operators and time integration schemes are implemented on this C++ library which can handle models meshed on general polyhedra.

OpenFoam provides parallelization by domain decomposition and comes along with powerful pre and post processing tools.

The workshop takes place at the SIMDI05 conferance in Gothenburg, Sweden 7-8 September 2005.

CD-adapco CD-adapco is pleased to announce their participation in the 7th World Congress of Chemical Engineering, from the 10th - 14th July at the SECC in Glasgow. CD-adapco will be exhibiting in the "Hub" and profiling their Chemical focused CFD simulation products, including STAR-CD, the world leading CFD package for complex physics flow simulation.

Simon Lo, CD-adapco's Chemical and Process Sector Manager, is enthused about the conference: "As the boundaries between the traditional chemical engineering disciplines continue to fall, Computational Fluid Dynamics is increasingly finding new and exciting territories in which to expand. Transonic Heat Transfer Problem in Concentric Pipe

Help Desk ejazkd writes "Hello,

I am trying to solve a transonic heat transfer problem in a concentric tube arrangment. I am having a problem in setting boundary conditions and in achieveing convergence.

At the inlet, a mass inlet boundary condition is applied, and on the outlet a pressure outlet BC is applied, which should be when in the transonic domain. But I am bit confused with supplying the pressure values.

Can somebody guide me on how to achieve convergence in this transonic heat transfer problem?

CD-adapco CD-adapco’s STAR German Conference will take place on November 7-8, 2005 at the München Marriott Hotel, München, Germany.

The Conference is a combination of presentations and workshops given by clients and key CD-adapco employees to provide invaluable knowledge and communicate future developments to the CFD community.

To submit a presentation to be considered for the conference, please send a 100-200 word abstract to info@de.cd-adapco.com by August 16th, 2005 at latest.
