ACUITIV Visualization Software Discontinued

News Fuel-Tech has announced [pdf] the discontinuation of their CFD visualization product ACUITIV introduced in 2002. One of ACUITIV's key features was support for immersive environments such as the CAVE. The software was characterized as an interactive, enterprise-class CFD visualization solution for industries worldwide, including automotive, aerospace & defense, power, and chemical processing.

Fuel-Tech will offer the CFD visualization technology to interested third parties for further commercialization.

New Software: FLUENT 6.2 Raises the Industry Standard for CFD

This release has over 300 new capabilities that aim to broaden the range of possible CFD applications in all industries. CD-adapco Appoints New VP of Marketing and Biz Development

CD-adapco CD-adapco, the leading provider of advanced CAE and flow-simulation software, has announced the appointment of CAE industry veteran Dr. Dennis Nagy as its new Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. "With over 30 years of experience in all aspects of CAE, from R&D through executive management, Dennis brings a valuable set of abilities and experiences to augment out company's leadership and accelerate our growth," said Steve MacDonald, founder and President of CD-adapco.

Help Desk ddunava writes "I realize this may be a simple question, but I need general feedback from the User Community about the feasibility of Design Engineers using CFD. We have a sister division that has decided to acquire a major CFD program for use by their Design Engineers, and our analysis group has strongly recommended against it. Please advise ASAP, thanks."

News Flow Science, Inc. has announced it has entered into an agreement with PV Engineering Co. for the latter firm to represent Flow Science’s FLOW-3D® computational fluid dynamics software in Greece for both sales and engineering consulting purposes.

Flow Science, Inc. is a privately-held software company specializing in high fidelity fluid dynamics modeling software for industrial and scientific applications worldwide.
