News SmartCAE Srl, a leader in providing Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software has announced their new product, Smart|Coupling, a multidisciplinary data transfer tool.

Smart|Coupling is a program for coupling and linking of mathematical models coming from different disciplines, thus allowing a seamless multiphysics interaction. In fact, different CAE disciplines need specific modelling strategies by means of grid shape, grid density, system units, and often it is not possible to use one and the same model for different simulations.

Hardware X-bit Labs is reporting that HP will cease production of Intel Itanium 2 based workstations, citing demand switch to systems with Intel Xeon processors 64-bit capability known as EM64T.

“HP is discontinuing its Itanium-based workstations. In working with and listening to our high-performance workstation partners and customers, we have become aware that the focus in this arena is being driven toward 64-bit extension technology,” HP’s spokeswoman Nita Miller told X-bit labs.

HP will reportedly continue to sell servers based on Itanium 2 processors.
