The Waterman Group will be applying CFD modelling to areas of its consultancy services including internal ventilation, to design energy efficient natural ventilation schemes, and external flow modelling, which allows the company to accurately predict pedestrian comfort. The company has been involved in the design of a number of major projects, both in the UK and abroad. FLUENT CFD software is currently being used to predict airflow movement to assess occupant comfort for an atrium design study at Saint Katharines Dock (K2) in London, and to model internal ventilation for the White City project in London.

PathScale and Absoft Corporation have announced the results of a collaborative engineering initiative to assure optimum compatibility and interoperability between the PathScale EKO Compiler Suite for Linux-based AMD64 compatible systems and the Absoft Fx2™ Fortran/C/C++ Debugging Solution.

The split CFD/underwater image of Phelps used in the Wallpaper perfectly shows how contours of frictional drag on Phelps' body while he is in the glide position can be simulated to a lifelike resolution today. This is an exciting milestone in the development of applying CFD to real world competitive scenarios.
