The CD adapco Group is delighted to invite you to its 12th European User Conference, coinciding with the launch of STAR CCM, a big step forward in CFD technology based on state-of-the-art computational continuum mechanics methods.
The conference will be held on March 15-16, 2004 at the Novotel Hotel in Hammersmith, London. This new location enables us to invite more attendees and host more application presentations than ever before, as well as parallel sessions for workshops and training courses.
This invitation extends to anyone in the CFD community or other interested parties, not just CD adapco Group product users.
Objectives of the meeting:
- To inform you about the latest features and developments of our CFD/CAE products and services, with a special focus on the new STAR CCM empowered computational continuum mechanics codes and their unique benefits in terms of meshing speed and robustness, solving accuracy and speed, quicker turnaround time and multiphysics capabilities
- To enable you to meet with employees of the CD adapco Group and fellow CFD users
- To provide an opportunity for you to listen to presentations given by others about their successful applications of our products
- To offer workshops meeting your technology needs

techman wrote in about new high performance cluster offerings from IBM and OctigaBay based on AMD Opteron processors.
IBM announced the availability of 64-bit processing power for the IBM Cluster 1350, a leading-edge Linux cluster solution. The new high-density IBM e325 Model 240, 242 and 246 nodes offer 1 or 2 AMD Opteron processors running at speeds of 1.4GHz, 1.6GHz and 2.0GHz, respectively.
The Cluster 1350 combines AMD64 technology, fast networking and storage to create flexible turnkey solutions for high performance computing (HPC) and commercial application environments.
OctigaBay introduced today a new High Performance Computing (HPC) platform that promises three times greater price/performance over state-of-the-art HPC servers. The OctigaBay 12K combines breakthrough interconnect and management technologies with AMD Opteron 64-bit processors, overcoming major shortcomings that severely limit performance, reliability and usability. These innovations make the OctigaBay 12K ideal for simulation, modeling, searching, sorting, data mining and other processing intensive applications.
Thirty times faster than Gigabit Ethernet, the OctigaBay 12K high speed interconnect fuses the AMD Opteron 64-bit processors directly to a high performance interconnect fabric through an innovative communications technology, eliminating bottlenecks inherent in today's solutions.
