The seminar will cover the core ICEM CFD mesh generation tools as well as some new vertical applications such as ICEM CFD CART3D. The biggest advantage of the core meshing systems over existing tools is the ability to handle poor CAD data. ICEM CFD can mesh CAD with holes and overlaps as well as meshing over 'sliver surfaces'. In many cases, users can completely remove the 'CAD Clean-Up' phase from their process which reduces time and therefore costs.

The Fluent Remote Simulation Facility lets users exploit supercomputer capacity with unlimited Fluent processes using "pay as you go" methods through a highly secure Internet portal. This provides an excellent solution for Fluent users with a periodic need for high performance data processing.

According to Dr. Jan Visser, President of Qfinsoft, “Qfin has been developed as a heat sink design and optimization tool to cut the time and effort involved in designing optimized heat sinks. Along with a completely new design interface, a more advanced network solver that can solve multiple fans on the same heat sink, Qfin’s accuracy over a wide range of complex heat sink geometries has been improved.

Ward's editors nominated 29 engines for Best Engines consideration. All were required to be available in regular production 2003 vehicles and all were judged against one another - there were no categories or other means of artificial competition.
