News The UKs surfers can now enjoy a world-first inland wave lagoon at a new site in Snowdonia. The Surf Snowdonia facility is a huge, man-made outdoor lagoon with a wave-generating mechanism running its entire length.

To maintain high water quality, without the need for harmful chemicals, the facility uses an ultraviolet disinfection system, supplied by atg-UV Technology Ltd.

atg UV approached Wilde Analysis to help ensure the effectiveness of their system and to guarantee that clean, safe water is maintained for the entire lagoon and its users. The team at Wilde Analysis used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to model various different designs to ensure the UV system operated as effectively as possible.
